Why Do You Need Pool Cleaners When You Think You Can Do the Job Yourself?

Pool cleaning involves more than just removing floating debris. Most homeowners may not know this, which is why they may think that they can handle pool cleaning work themselves. Some may know how to go about effective cleaning but may be too busy to do it. This is why hiring pool cleaners is necessary. Note some more reasons why you need pool cleaners.

Do You Know How to Test Chemical Levels?

When cleaning or maintaining a pool, you need to be able to test chemical levels. You may not have the experience that pool cleaners have and might not be able to carry out the tests effectively. The correct chemical levels are important to prevent your pool from having bacteria and germs. These germs and bacteria cause infections and two common infections are shigellosis and E. coli.

E. coli will mainly cause diarrhoea, but in very old and young persons, it can cause severe health issues. Shigellosis will cause fevers, vomiting, cramps and nausea. Pool cleaners are aware of such infections and will make sure your pool is free of these bacteria.

If you happen to undertake cleaning your pool without proper knowledge or training, you can be sure that your pool will be infested with germs and bacteria, making anyone swimming in it to get infected with shigellosis, E. coli or other infections.

Do You Know the Different Areas That Need to Be Cleaned?

There are key areas that need to be cleaned and these include baskets, filter cartridges (that includes backwashing), top of the water, the bottom of the pool, etc. The work of the baskets is to trap debris, and you need to clean out the trapped debris. Filters also trap some debris and need to be cleaned out. If not cleaned out, you will have water pressure issues. What you may be aware of is cleaning the top of the water (removing floating debris) and cleaning the bottom of the pool, either by brushing or vacuuming. Backwashing is when you reverse the flow of water in your pool to clean debris off the filter. You need to know how to do this to avoid damaging your pool system. If you have no clue about any of the mentioned areas, hire the services of pool cleaners.

These are the main reasons why you should leave pool cleaning duties to professionals. It is worth the investment, and it is only required at least once a month. Remember that you most likely will not be using your pool year-round, so it is a small price to pay for your health and pool maintenance.
